BEIJINGâLying in bed the night before his big race at last year's world championships, his heart pounding, body sweating, Canadian swimmer Brent Hayden began to give up any hope of sleeping â let alone performing at any level."If it wasn't for one of my teammates letting me use one of his sleeping pills, I definitely wouldn't have gotten to sleep that night and it might have even ruined me for the next day," said Hayden in an interview earlier this year with the Star."I know that for the Olympics I'm going to get some WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) approved sleeping pills. It's nerve-wracking. It sucks."Hayden went on to tie for the win in the 100-metre freestyle victory, Canada's first world championship gold medal in 41 years.
